Kirby: A sweetheart of a guy and a friend to everyone, Kirby owns the Common Grounds Coffee Shop with his twin sister, Kara. Kara and Kirby look like twins, but that's where the similarities end -- they couldn't be any more different if they tried! When Kirby & Kara's grandmother passed away, she insisted that they run the shop. Kirby is a nice guy who would bend over backwards to help any of his friends, even if it means putting himself at a lower priority. Girls love him like a brother -- just a brother. (Much to his dismay.) First Appearance Erik: Erik's not evil, he's just very very bitter and cynical. Best friends with Kirby, he helps run the Common Grounds Coffee Shop. Although he can be egotistical and even rude at times, Erik has a soft side that no one sees. Whether he doesn't let them see it, or they just look past it, is a completely different story. First Appearance Cyn: Just moving to a small town from New York City, Cyn hasn't quite adjusted to small town life yet. When she applies for a job at Common Grounds, the whole place seems to light up. Fun and spirited, with a positive energy that is contagious even to Erik (sometimes,) Cyn hopes to turn the coffee shop around and bring it the business it deserves. In the meantime, she finds herself falling in love... First Appearance Kara: Kara is Kirby's twin sister, and owns half of the store. The major difference between Kirby and Kara is that Kirby actually comes in, works, and deserves the small amount of cash that the store brings in. Kara mostly mooches money of of her parents and various boyfriends. She has to mooch, because there's no way that she'll actually do work, and she's got to afford her Abercrumbly & Flinch clothing somehow. First Appearance Alex: There are very few things that are important to Alex. Eating, breathing, and his guitar, are about it. He lives to play, and plays to live. That is, he would play to live if he actually made money off of it somehow. Alex is from California, (he moved to town a few years back).. That would explain his good looks --- and his mentality. He wandered into Common Grounds one day, looking for a place to play, and has been hanging around ever since, much to the approval of Kara, who thinks he's her dream boy. First Appearance Marcus: Marcus is a good friend of Erik's although Kirby doesn't care for him much. An apparent intellectual and fluent speaker of French, Marcus doesn't seem like the type to get into drugs and such.. but with his constant cash flow and strange "connections," everyone thinks he's suspicious! Marcus's family is black, and one of just a few non-white families in the small town that Common Grounds is located in. Luckily, his charm and wit have helped him to get along with almost everyone he's met. First Appearance Buzz: Buzz comes from a big family, including a very evil younger brother and sister. A self-proclaimed computer freak and caffiene junkie, Kirby is more than happy to let him stick around the shop -- he's always got a pocket full of money to pay for his caffiene addiction.
